Our repeater, 9M4RCP, is hosted at Bukit Pohumpung thanks to the generosity of Pohumpung Natural Breeze Trail (PNBT). The trail leads to Bukit Bendera and is enjoyed by hikers and outdoor enthusiasts in Papar.
Papar Amateur Radio Club is grateful for permission to use this site for our repeater station, helping the amateur radio community stay connected across Papar and the surrounding area.

Our journey
The Establishment of 9M4RCP
From informal discussions among fellow operators to a community repeater at Bukit Pohumpung, this is the story of the effort and collaboration behind 9M4RCP. With appreciation to 9M6RDY, 9W6AJA, 9W6MM, 9W6SD and 9W6MOZ for their part in the early project.
An idea born from member gatherings
Discussions about a repeater that was no longer operating prompted members to source suitable radios and explore a practical, club-led way to build a repeater.
Equipment preparation and coverage trials
Equipment was assembled through member collaboration and the repeater was tested at several locations. While the early trials had limited coverage, the team continued working to improve reach across Papar.
An opportunity at Bukit Pohumpung
During a site visit in the Bukit Pohumpung area, the proposal to host the PARC repeater received positive support. Collaboration with PNBT and other relevant parties opened the way to a more suitable location.
Formal discussions and community support
PARC met with relevant parties to discuss the need for a repeater for the amateur radio community. Support from the Papar District Office and consent from the site host provided an important foundation for the project.
Installation, assessment and site visit
The repeater was installed and tested, delivering improved coverage for Papar and the surrounding area. The club continued its technical discussions and received a site visit to assess the installation and equipment.
9M4RCP becomes a reality
The site visit with relevant parties marked a major milestone for PARC. The commitment of members, community support and cooperation across the project helped establish 9M4RCP as a meaningful communications facility for amateur radio in Papar.
