How to Get Started
Take the process one step at a time. Refer to current MCMC requirements and official notices for the latest application information.
- Understand the Radio Amateur Examination The Radio Amateur Examination is managed by MCMC. Class C is commonly the starting point for beginners.
- Register through the MCMC SEMS Portal Create an account, complete the relevant application process, and follow the latest instructions from MCMC.
- Study and Prepare Study radio fundamentals, regulations and operating safety. PARC can help newcomers find useful preparation resources.
- Sit and Pass the Examination After passing, you receive the required operator certificate for the next stage of the process.
- Apply for an Apparatus Assignment This approval allows you to transmit legally and receive your own amateur radio callsign.
- Join PARC and Make Your First Contact Meet experienced operators, learn good operating practice and make your first QSO.
